200 Directional Poses in One Hour

Working in LA with Photog/Stylist Tiffany Angeles (Tiff created my walls) and Husband/Photographer Marc Angeles we were shooting this gorgeous girl and decided at the end of the shoot to record how many poses I could FLOW in one hour. The answer 200 saleable shots. she sat down, and stood up, but didn’t lay down so we flowed through Standing/Moving/Freestyling and Sitting on 2 chairs. All in a 2m x 2m corner with one window and one reflector. Marc Video’d it and I will edit it when I return from Brazil a great exercise in Direction and keeping your client moving confidently.

The more I can teach you to move and direct fluidly and with control and confidence the faster you will produce a great result and have control over your client which in turn gives them confidence in you. You can find fabrics like these walls for $7 a metre so cheap and easy to make interesting corners.

  51. Hey Sue, finally finished and loved the Creative Live videos. A load of stuff I’ve known distilled into bite sized chunks, and positive influence. I could go on about posing/PS/Sales etc, but you know what? An attitude of gratitude trumps them all.

I really look forward to the video and exploring more of your site, and more of your work. Sue, you’ve truly been an inspiration. I was away speaking at Focus on Imaging in the UK when you were on Creative Live, so I purchased, with a gut feeling it would be more than worth it. Nice to be right! I was also teaching lighting and Lightroom at a residential week at the end of March in the UK (I’m in Ireland) , and you were a huge topic in our social conversation. That much reach!

As to the post, I use fabric backgrounds all the time. Love them-helps get unique looks!

    Thanks again for doing that.
    All the best,
    Sean

  52. Hi Sue,

I am have watched all your creative live videos – and they are wonderful!

These images are stunning – love the harmony in the colours and her skin tone and eyes!

I was wondering if could help with some advice regarding the viewing/selling session.

    1) What software you use to show the images/slideshow – I use ProShow – but was wondering if there is anything better

    2) They view the photos – then after – how do they go through them to choose which one they like? Do you open Bridge for example and go through the photos one by one and mark what they like? Do you ask them to name what they like first (as supposed to let’s get rid of what you don’ t like).

    3) Once they’ve chosen what they like – if I can’t take the funds straight away – shall I get them to sign some sort of order form/invoice to be paid within x days?

Would you be able to share the system/process for this session. Thank you Lena

  53. Awesomesauce! Wonderful inspiration, we beginners soak it up thank you!
